To help young digital innovators transform creative passion into sustainable enterprises, the African Continental Chapter of the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC Africa) has announced the 2026 Social Media and Content Creator Capacity Building Masterclass. Organized alongside media platform JodelaTv and youth development partner EduCore Impact Organization, the intensive workshop aims to equip Nigerian storytellers with the technical expertise, operational structure, and monetization strategies required to access global digital markets.
Bridging Raw Creativity with Technical and Commercial Mastery
Nigeria’s digital economy boasts a vibrant pool of creative talent, yet many independent creators struggle to transition from casual publishing to scalable, revenue-generating businesses. The upcoming masterclass directly addresses this gap by offering advanced training in technical channel optimization, storytelling mechanics, audience analytics, and multi-platform monetization.
Announcing the initiative, Ambassador Jonathan Ojadah, Global President and Chairman of the UNIPGC Supreme Council, highlighted that creative talent must be backed by strategic competence to stay competitive internationally. “The Nigerian creative industry is overflowing with talent, but talent alone is no longer enough to compete globally,” Ojadah stated. “This masterclass bridges the gap between raw creativity and structural competence, equipping creators with the technical optimization and narrative power required to build influential digital enterprises right here from Nigeria.”
Co-Located with the Nigeria @ 66 Peace and Governance Conference
The hands-on masterclass will take place live in Lagos as an integral feature of the official Nigeria @ 66 Peace and Governance Conference & Awards. Bringing together policy leaders, corporate executives, and civic advocates, the summit serves as a platform to strengthen democratic systems, encourage investment, and foster national cohesion in celebration of Nigeria’s independence.
Operating under the theme “From Conflict to Consolidation: Strengthening Democracy and Traditional Institutions through Solidarity,” the conference emphasizes that responsible digital media and storytelling play a crucial role in civic engagement, peacebuilding, and economic expansion across Africa.
Eligibility Criteria and How to Apply Before August 30
To ensure focused mentorship and high-quality practical sessions, participation in the masterclass is strictly limited. The organizing committee is accepting applications online through official UNIPGC Africa portals until the strict cutoff date on August 30, 2026.
To qualify for consideration, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Professional Focus: Be an active content creator, digital journalist, blogger, podcaster, or video editor based in Nigeria.
Verified Portfolio: Possess an existing, verifiable online platform or portfolio demonstrating at least six months of continuous publishing activity.
Mandatory Attendance: Commit to participating in person for the full duration of the intensive workshop sessions in Lagos.
