Joke Silva, Audu Maikori, Steve Babaeko to Headline QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit 2.0
Some of Nigeria’s most respected voices in the creative industry are set to converge in Lagos for the second edition of the QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit 2.0. An event designed to spark conversations around the future of the country’s creative economy. The summit was announced by QEDNG, the online newspaper published by Mighty Media Plus Network Limited.
Scheduled for Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos. This year’s summit carries the theme “Creativity, Culture and Nigeria’s Next Chapter.” Organisers say the event will bring together professionals from entertainment, advertising, publishing, technology, law, and business. This is to explore how Nigeria can strengthen its position as one of Africa’s leading creative hubs.

Meet the Panelists
Among the headline speakers are veteran actress Joke Silva, whose decades-long career has helped shape Nigeria’s film and theatre industry. Also is, entrepreneur and Chocolate City co-founder Audu Maikori; and Steve Babaeko, Chief Executive Officer of X3M Ideas and one of the country’s most recognised advertising executives. The combination of their experience will provide valuable insights into leadership, innovation, storytelling, and the business side of creativity.
The summit will also feature diverse industry professionals, including technology content creator Fisayo Fosudo and entertainment executive Efe Omorogbe. Also on the lineup is intellectual property lawyer Omotayo Inakoju, theatre practitioner Yibo Koko, and publisher Anwuli Ojogwu. According to the organisers, bringing together experts from different sectors reflects the growing interconnectedness of Nigeria’s creative economy. It also buttresses the importance of cross-industry collaboration.
Rather than limiting discussions to music and film, this year’s event aims to examine the broader creative ecosystem. Expectations are that topics cover areas such as intellectual property protection, digital innovation, creative entrepreneurship, talent development, publishing, advertising, and cultural tourism. The aim of these conversations is to provide practical ideas for professionals, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors seeking to unlock more opportunities within the sector.
The Vision Behind The Summit
Speaking on the vision behind the summit, Olumide Iyanda, publisher of QEDNG and convener of the event, explained that the speaker selection was carefully considered to ensure participants gain perspectives from individuals who have built successful careers across different creative disciplines. He noted that the purpose of the summit is to encourage meaningful conversations that can inspire innovation, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to the long-term growth of Nigeria’s creative industries.
The organisers had earlier announced Demola Aladekomo, founder of Chams Holding Company Plc, as chairman of the event. Delivering the keynote address is Ife Adebayo, National Coordinator of the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) programme, BOI. The expectation is that the presentation focuses on opportunities for investment and sustainable development within Nigeria’s expanding creative sector.
