To honor the visionary minds steering this evolution, the AFRICA 4.0 Awards 2026 has officially launched its call for nominations.Organized by the African Inclusive Smart Manufacturing Alliance (AISMA) with backing from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), this second edition celebrates exceptional individuals advancing the Fourth Industrial Revolution across the continent. The global gathering will conclude with a gala ceremony in Dakar, Senegal, in November 2026, bringing together top policy makers, academic researchers, corporate executives, and technology entrepreneurs.

Technological Innovation in Industry 4.0: Honors engineers, inventors, and startup founders who have built practical solutions in robotics, artificial intelligence, internet of things (IoT), and smart factory automation to boost industrial productivity.
Young Researcher in Industry 4.0: Highlights postgraduate scholars and early-career researchers producing groundbreaking, data-driven studies that solve real-world manufacturing and engineering challenges.
Digital Leadership and Industrial Transformation: Recognizes corporate executives and institutional leaders who have successfully executed large-scale digital modernization programs within their organizations.
Women in Industry 4.0 in Africa: Celebrates trailblazing female scientists, executives, and entrepreneurs expanding opportunities for women while reshaping Africa’s industrial technology ecosystem.
Eligibility Criteria and Endorsement Requirements for Nominees
The awards welcome nominations from professionals working in academic institutions, private manufacturing firms, technology startups, public policy organizations, and development agencies across Africa.
To maintain strict standards of excellence, the selection process requires each candidate to be backed by at least two formal endorsements from established industry experts or academic researchers. These endorsement letters must outline the candidate’s specific achievements, technical credibility, and measurable impact on African manufacturing or research.
