TD Africa has been named the headline sponsor of the Design Thinking Challenge (DTC) at Enugu Tech Fest 2026, reinforcing its commitment to supporting technology-driven innovation across Nigeria. The sponsorship marks another milestone in TD Africa’s efforts to promote solutions that address real-world challenges through practical and scalable technology.
The company stated that its involvement aligns with its long-standing focus on empowering innovators whose ideas deliver measurable value within the technology ecosystem. With a sponsorship valued at over ₦35 million, TD Africa is directing support toward innovations in Energy, Healthcare, and Agriculture, sectors widely regarded as vital to Nigeria’s economic stability, social wellbeing, and long-term development.
According to the organisers of the Design Thinking Challenge, a major component of the initiative is a seed grant pool that will be shared equally among winning teams across the three focus areas. This funding is designed to help innovators move beyond the idea stage by refining prototypes, validating solutions, and developing products capable of real-world deployment.
Speaking on the partnership, Jessica Owonam, Business Development Manager at TD Africa, noted that the company’s approach to innovation is rooted in sustainability and responsibility. She explained that TD Africa believes innovation should be practical, inclusive, and capable of creating lasting impact. By prioritising Energy, Healthcare, and Agriculture, the company is investing in solutions that improve lives, strengthen communities, and contribute meaningfully to national growth.
In addition to financial backing, participants in the Challenge will benefit from structured mentorship, technical guidance, and solution reviews from experienced professionals. These mentors include members of TD Africa’s technical and business leadership teams, offering participants valuable industry insight and execution support.
Programme Coordinator of the Design Thinking Challenge, Barr. Victor Ogbonna, described TD Africa’s involvement as a significant boost to the initiative. He said the partnership reflects shared values of collaboration, excellence, and future-focused innovation, adding that TD Africa’s role extends beyond sponsorship to active engagement with participating teams.
Ogbonna further noted that participants will gain access to professional networks, market knowledge, and practical expertise capable of accelerating early-stage innovation and improving commercial readiness.
The Design Thinking Challenge, hosted as part of Enugu Tech Fest, continues to serve as a platform for connecting innovators with investors, mentors, and ecosystem stakeholders. TD Africa’s partnership highlights the growing importance of strategic technology collaborations in national development and reinforces the belief that Africa’s digital future will be shaped through cooperation, disciplined innovation, and sustained investment in people and ideas that solve real problems.
